My brother and my 4-year-old niece (his daughter) were at the grocery store. Paxten still hasn't been able to buckle herself into her car seat, so my brother challenged her. He placed her in her car seat and told Paxten to race to see if she could get her car seat buckled before he loaded the groceries into the car.
My brother was at the back of his Yukon loading groceries into the car when he hears the sound of one of the latches sliding into the car seat buckle. It makes a click sound.
"Did you hear the click, daddy?" she asked.
"Good job Paxten, what about the other one?" he asked her from the back of the car.
There was silence, and then my brother hears the sound of my 4-year-old niece saying the word "click."
"Did you hear another click, daddy?"
"Yes I did Paxten, but that one sounded different."
"No it's not."
Of course when my brother finished loading the groceries he checked on her car seat, and only one of the latches was fully buckled. I cracked up that my niece couldn't get her car seat latched, so she just said "click" in hopes of winning. I love Pax.
That is such a great story. It shows your brother's parenting skills and Pax's problem solving skills - other than being hilarious. Gosh these pictures and stories just melt my heart. I love that you post all the things that you post. My family just fills me with happiness (& homesickness) and joy and gratitude.
