I had the day off from work. I woke up early and went out shopping. I left my husband at home with his cold.
I got my car washed, and then I went to North Park, DSW, Wisteria, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, Party City, Target, and I stopped at the grocery store on my way home. I did so much shopping I forgot to drink or eat anything all day. Even though I was a bit dehydrated, it felt amazing. Until I got home...
When I got home my husband, the CFO of the household, was a bit annoyed with me and my purchases. He kept asking how much stuff cost. He said something like: "I don't understand, it's like your only goal today was to spend money." And then he continued with, "Was your Christmas cash burning a hole in your pocket?! Did you need this stuff?"
I was proud, because I could have spent so much more. And I used my Christmas cash, mostly.
My mother called and she asked what I did today. I told her I went shopping all day and then I got lectured from my husband about shopping all day. She laughed. I haven't heard my mother laugh since her accident. It was a great sound.
That's me. The one getting yelled at for buying more stuff.
